About the event

Charlene Brown’s love of art was nurtured from a young age by her grandmother Marian Winston, who was an artist, teacher, and kindred spirit. Throughout Charlene’s formative years, Marian encouraged her to explore various techniques and mediums, making each new project exciting and magical. Charlene went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Earlham College in Indiana, and since then has utilized her creative energies teaching art to children and adults. The Renaissance Gallery in Carmel, Indiana, launched her career as a fine artist in May 2012.
Charlene’s sensitive portrayals of people and nature combine elements of realistic, impressionistic, and abstract techniques. She is proficient in various drawing mediums and oil, and enjoys working in the studio as well as outdoors (en plein air). She has studied with such notable artists as Pam Newell, William Schneider, Lori Putnam, Dan Gerhartz, Carolyn Anderson, C W Mundy, David Slonim,…
