Situated on the scenic Missouri River, Waterfront Gallery for the Arts is a unique venue for artists and performers from across the state of South Dakota to share their creativity in the beautiful capitol city of Pierre.
Hello! My name is Dove!

"I was adopted from PAWS Animal Rescue in Pierre! I really like coming to Waterfront Gallery where I sleep on the floor or lounge in the sun on the gallery's patio. Sometime I even help entertain children and a lot of humans say I am good at calming them down. I am very friendly and love to be petted! But if you have dog allergies or are wary of unfamiliar animals, that is okay! Just let the humans on staff know and they can take me to the office next door, which is my second favorite place to lounge around! I want you to enjoy Waterfront Gallery as much as I do!"
GALLERY HOURS:
Wednesdays & Thursdays & Saturdays
11:00am to 4:00pm
And by appointment most other days by contacting Jen Kanz at 605-220-0364.
WHAT WE DO AT WATERFRONT GALLERY
Art Exhibits
Whether its showcasing our local talent or bringing in artists of all disciplines from around the state, Waterfront Gallery not only provides a venue for artists and arts organizations, but works with them to create a gallery experience that is uniquely theirs, assisting them with set up, promotion and publicity.

Education
Working with local schools, educators and organizations to display student artwork, inspire creativity, provide art classes and encourage student involvement in all art disciplines and promote careers in the arts. We also host a variety of public speakers to share their knowledge with others.

Community
It is our belief that the arts are integral to our communities and to individual health and well-being. Our events gather together people of all ages, sharing diverse experiences and ideas which builds tolerance, empathy and strengthens the fabric of our community.

Advocacy
Recent research has illuminated the physiological, neurological and sociological benefits of the arts. This evidence is expanding what is currently considered the ‘arts community’ into the fields of rehabilitation, mental health and mind-body medicine.

Accessibility
Waterfront Gallery is wheelchair accessible with ground level entrance (located on the riverside) of the building, wide doorways, hard flooring, and large rooms for easy maneuverability, Restrooms are located on the same level.

Literary Materials
Enjoy the Waterfront Gallery Art Library of instruction, history and cultural books for the public to enjoy. During the summer, it library is out overlooking the Missouri River for the community to enjoy while relaxing on the patio.

Possibilities
At Waterfront Gallery, we strive to fulfill the vision of artists by exploring all possibilities for events, classes and activities. If you have an idea, we would love to help you make it a reality! If we can't do it then we will try to help you find someone who can.
Networking
As the only art gallery in Pierre, we have become the "art hub" for connecting artists, organizations and arts supporters, encouraging collaboration, cooperation and mutual support in Central South Dakota and across the state.
